President Goodluck Jonathan is today moving to check cracks in the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, arising from the suspension of Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State from the party at a dinner for senior officials and members of the party.
The move by the president is coming as Governor Babatunde Fashola, yesterday, described as disgraceful the conduct of some of his colleagues following the election of Amaechi as chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum, NGF. He tendered an apology to Nigerians on the issue.

A former army general and major player during Nigeria's decades of military rule, Mamman Kontagora (b. April 20, 1944), died on Wednesday night at the National Hospital Abuja, according to a statement by the Governors Forum.
Major-General Mamman Tsoho Kontagora hailed from Kontagora, Kontagora Local Government in Niger State.

Man Found Dead In A House Of Snakes
Police looking for a missing man were shocked to find him dead in his home  surrounded by over forty giant snakes.
Many of the reptiles, including a 30ft anaconda and four 35ft pythons, were slithering free around the decomposing body when police entered snake fan Heiko Rieder's apartment in Straubing, Germany.
