This is a pathetic and yet dreaded situation. Even policemen are afraid:
“This is not the fight time he is doing this. The first time they lost their daughter, he locked her [corpse] up in the room preventing everyone, including his wife from coming inside.
"Till date no one can tell what he did with her corpse. As you can see, everyone is afraid of him in this area.”
That was the much a female resident, identified as Nwankego, could say due to fear for her safety.

A 33 year old man is on the run after murdering his wife with acid. On Friday October 11th, a man named Sunday Eze from Obiofia Nnewichi Nnewi in Anambra State, went to his father-in-law's house at Edoji Uruagu to see his estranged wife, 23 year old Ebere Eze (Nee Agwuncha) who had moved back to her father's house after falling out with her husband.

Cross River Police Command, Monday, announced the release of Etubom Essien Cobham, father of the state’s Deputy Governor, Mr. Efiok Cobham, who was abducted by unknown gunmen on Friday.
A statement by Mr. Hogan Bassey, the Police Public Relations Officer, in Calabar said that Cobham was released on Sunday.
He did not give details as to how the elder statesman was released or whether any ransom had been paid.
