ASUU STRIKE: Schools May Resume On Monday After Emergency NEC Meeting This Weekend
Latest developments indicate that the five-month old ASUU strike, may be called off over the weekend. A source who pleaded anonymity, told newsmen that the National Executive Council, NEC meeting, which was suspended indefinitely because of the death of Late Professor Festus Iyayi, a former president of the Union, maybe be reconvened on Saturday.
 He said that Iyayi’s death brought shock to the Union, especially as he was on his way to official assignment and the ASUU had to put the meeting on hold to honour him.

Lokoja – The President of the National Association of Kogi Students, Mr Abubakar Shuaib, has expressed sympathy with the leadership of ASUU over the death of Prof. Festus Iyayi.

Shuaib told a news conference on Friday in Lokoja that the association received the news of the death of Iyayi with shock.

Zidan spoke late Friday, hours after Libyan militiamen attacked protesters who demanded the disbanding of the country's rampant armed groups.
