Police Detains Marshal Who Brought in Murdered Damoche's Phone
Officers at the Ojo Police Division have detained a campus marshal who brought in the phone of Damino Damoche, a LASU student and upcoming musician who was killed last week. According to the marshal an unidentified student handed over the phone to him before he brought it to the police station. The police have however detained him and asked him to produce the student or he will remain in their custody for more interrogations.

Tragedy struck in Enugu Saturday night when the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Chinwike Asadu, was shot dead by unknown gunmen.
His police orderly, Aloha Olaniyi and Driver, Oliver Omeh, who were with him at the time of the incident sustained serious bullet wounds and are said to be lying critically at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu.

34-Year-Old Farmer Sentenced To Death For Robbery Attempt
A DELTA State High Court sitting at Effurun has sentenced a 34-year-old farmer, one Emeka Ogwu to death after pronouncing him guilty of the offence of conspiracy to commit armed robbery. The court found him guilty on three count charges of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, attempt to commit robbery and illegal possession of firearm, contrary to sections 1 (2) (a), 2(1) and (2) and 3 (1) of the Robbery and firearms (Special Provisions) Acts, Cap R. II, Volume 14, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.

Security operatives comprising soldiers, the police and Civil Defence officers, however, prevented the protesting students from trooping into the premises of the DHQ.
