The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, yesterday, at Obomkpa in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, emerged unhurt after an assassination attempt. However, locally made canon contraptions, which triggered the explosion, critically injured a female aide to one of the Speaker’s associates.
Ochei, on a routine familiarisation and thank-you tour of his Aniocha North Constituency, had barely finished exchanging pleasantries with his supporters at the Eke Market square venue, when a loud explosion and its attendant smoke threw the crowd into pandemonium.

Six Naval Officers Beat Teacher to Stupor in Ogun (PICTURED)
A terrible accident happened at the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Onikoko, Adigbe area of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital in the early hours of October 30, 2013, Wednesday, when six naval rating officers pounced on one of the civilian teachers in the school and beat him to stupor over a minor argument between them.
The victim, Rasheed Ibrahim (pictured), could have been killed by the naval officers without the quick intervention of the Commandant.Ibrahim, a Senior Food and Nutrition teacher in the school since 1998, was ordered rushed by the Commandant first to the School sickbay for first aid treatment from where he was transferred to the FMC, Abeokuta.

Nigerians who have expressed their displeasure at how Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah spent $1.4 million on two cars would be shell-shocked when they find out it she actually ordered six of such bulletproof cars, according to reports by a group known as Investigative Reporters In Aviation (IRA).
Going by this report, I can't seem to understand why she needed so many bulletproof cars, who is after her life? Is this just another case of excessive greed?

Plane Crash: Medview Airline Escapes Crash In Abuja!!!
According to The PUNCH, barely a month after the Associated Airlines plane crash, another air disaster was averted at the Nnamdi Azikwe Airport, Abuja on Monday as a Med-View Airlines aircraft from Lagos suddenly took to the air again at the point of landing in Abuja. Punch reports that the airline Flight VL2104 which had about 150 passengers on board took off from the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos at noon and was scheduled to land in Abuja at about 1.05pm. More after the break ...The pilot had already announced final descent into Abuja and asked all passengers and cabin crew to fasten their seat belts only for him to suddenly take off to the air again with barely 30 seconds to touch ground. Definitely, his action caused big panic, commotion among the passengers who bursted into prayers, yells to know what was happening, especially when the plane entered into turbulent weather on air.
