UNIUYO- NANS President, 4 Others Die on Way to Intervene on Uprising
Following the UNIUYO students uprising which left at least 3 people dead yesterday, the Senate president of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Donald Onukaogu, and four others died in an auto crash while on their way to Uyo, Akwa Ibom state to intervene on the matter. They embarked on their journey last night hoping to arrive at Uyo this morning for their intervention, but sadly it appears that the journey turned out to be one of no return.

Late Donal Onukaogu, NANS Senate president.

The lone survivor for the accident, who is currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, claimed that an illegal road block mounted by the police was responsible for the tragedy. The other four people who died in the auto crash are yet to be identified. May their souls rest in peace.
