Thousands Throng Nima To Celebrate Mtn-Salafest

Thousands of Muslims and non Muslims turned up on the Nima Highway last Sunday to celebrate the end of Ramadan with a major street festival dubbed “Salafest”. “Salafest” which was initiated by VIBE 91.9 FM in 1998 with support from the Ayawaso Council of Chiefs has now grown into one of the biggest festivals in the sub-region.

This year’s event had participants from Nigeria, Guinea, Mali, Niger and Chad participating during a spectacular recreation and show of culture.
The procession that lasted for concerning 2 hours had Chiefs on horse back magicians, ancient drummers still as some politicians on horse back adapting their messages through cultural displays.

Samuel Adeboyega University Vice Chancellor, Professor Adedoyin Died At 60

University- Vice Chancellor of Samuel Adegboyega University, which is located in Ogwa, Edo State Nigeria, is Dead.

The educational institution Authority of SAU regret to announce the death of her Foundation Vice-Chancellor, Professor Samson Folawunmi Adedoyin, aged 60.
Professor Samson died on Monday 20th, August 2012.
Professor Adedoyin, a renowned Professor of Agriculture Extension, was appointed Vice-Chancellor of the private University, owned by the Apostolic Church, LAWNA Territory, Nigeria, in June 2011.

Professor Adedoyin was at various times the Provost of the College of Agriculture of Osun State University, Osogbo and also of Olabisi Onabanjo University, located in Ago-Iwoye.
The Burial arrangements of the great professor will soon be announced later.
May his soul rest in the bosom of the Lord.

The University of Benin, popularly known as Uniben, located in Edo State, Nigeria Direct Entry Screening Examination for the 2012/2013 academic session has been scheduled and fixed to be written on Saturday, the 25th of August, 2012 in designated centres within Ugbowo Campus of the University. All candidates who participated in the examination are expected to be seated, latest, one hour before the scheduled time for the screening exercise begin. Qualification. Only candidates who applied through the Joint Admission And Matriculation Board (JAMB) for Direct Entry Admission and has chose the University of Benin as First Choice are qualified and eligible for the Screening Exercise. Application has already kick-off and the deadline for the online application started Monday July 30th 2012, and will close by 7:00a.m on Monday, 20th August, 2012.
