A medical personnel believed to be a doctor reportedly molested a female patient who was on admission in a hospital where he practices.
According to report, the female patient was brought to the clinic for emergency medical attention and after been placed on drip, recovered partially.
The medical personnel took advantage of the fact that she was semi-conscious and forcefully had sex with her.

Breaking News: Ex VP Mike Akhigbe Dies at 68
Former Chief of General Staff, Vice Admiral Mike Akhigbe, is dead. He was 68. Akhigbe, whose position in the Armed Forces Ruling Council (AFRC), headed by Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, made him the military vice-president in the junta that superintended the return to democracy in 1999, died at the weekend in England, THISDAY learnt Sunday.

It was gathered that the deceased had been battling with cancer for a long time. Before his appointment as the chief of general staff following the death of the then Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, in 1998, Akhigbe, who hailed from Edo State, was the Chief of Naval Staff.

After his retirement from the navy he went to read law and became an attorney with specialisation in Maritime and Real Estate Law.

A 19-year-old boy, Ahmed Jimoh, has been arraigned before a Yaba Magistrate’s Court for allegedly killing a woman named Grace Ilekure with a commercial tricycle popularly called Keke Napep.

The incident reportedly occurred along Commercial Avenue in Sabo-Yaba area of Lagos. Jimoh was said to have crushed Ilekure, while driving his tricycle “recklessly and dangerously” on the highway.

The deceased was said to have sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital in the area. She however died some days after the incident.

The Nigerian Navy, Central Naval Command, has arrested nine Nigerians and three Ghanaians on board a vessel laden with crude oil suspected to have been stolen from Akassa community in Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

The suspects were arrested on Friday by operatives of the Forward Operating Base of the Navy, known as FORMOSO, offshore Nun River on board MT FRANKENSEN, allegedly loaded with over 1,092,000 litres of stolen crude oil.

Canada begins compulsory fingerprint for Nigerian visa applicants
The Canadian High Commission in Nigeria says Nigerians applying for visa to the North American country will henceforth be required to provide their fingerprints. It said the new requirement which took effect from October 23, was introduced to check fraud, facilitate legitimate travel by making entry into the country easier.

According to the High Commission, applicants will need to go in person to a visa application centre to submit their application and give their fingerprints as well as have their photograph taken.

This was contained in a statement by the high commission’s Public Affairs Officer, Ezinne Uluocha.
