Man Nearly Dies Trying to Mail Himself to Girlfriend

Some birthday gift ideas are better than others -- and some are just unbelievably stupid. Take the case of a guy named Hu Seng, from southern China. Heng thought it would be fabulous to surprise his girlfriend on her birthday by mailing himself to her in a sealed box.
Unfortunately, the box got lost in transit for three hours, and when Seng's girl opened it in front of friends, she found him passed out and near death from lack of oxygen, the Sun reports.

Mercifully, paramedics were able to revive Seng, who said the cardboard had been "too thick" for an air hole.
Now,come to think of it base on tradition how did you see this? just because you what to surprise your girlfriend you want to.

Flowsick Joins Headies Next Rated Nominees As Chuddy K Is Dropped

With the release of the 2012 Hip Hop World Awards nomination list, the award organizers have announced the removal of fast-rising crooner, Chuddy K from the Next Rated category. According to the judges, the reason for the removal is due to the fact that Chuddy K had previously released an album in 2010 titled “I Am Me” which contradicts the grounds of nomination in that category as nominees must be unreleased artistes at the time of nomination. In line with this, upcoming rapper Flowsick has replaced Chuddy K and will jostle for the award with fellow nominees Davido, Eva and Praiz. Meanwhile Chuddy K still has nominations in the ‘Song of the Year’, ‘Best pop single’ and ‘Best street Hop’ categories.

A 2year-old Girl Was Sold By Her Aunt for 100,000Naira

A Thirty-year-old woman, Mrs. Elizabeth Elom from Umuoru Ezzangbo in Ohaukwu local government area of Ebonyi State has been arrested by police for allegedly stealing and selling a two-year old girl, Favour Onwe for the sum of N100, 000.

While parading the woman at the police headquarters Abakaliki yesterday, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Sylvester Igbo, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) said on July 16, 2012 the parents of the child, Mr. Aloysius 62 and Mrs. Ngozi Onwe 48 raised the alarm of the missing of the little girl without knowing that it was the aunt of the child who stole and sold her. Please click to continue reading...

He said that one Nkurika Okonkwo who is still at large bought the child for N100, 000 from one Izuchukwu Okeke from Akwa South in Anambra State, saying that woman who bought her took to her heels when she got wind that police were looking for her.

According to him, “The sister of the father of the child was discovered to be the person that stole the child and took her to Akwa in Anambra State where she had contact with the man who connected her to the  woman who bought the child.

“The man who connected her to the woman is one Izuchukwu Okeke from Akwa South in Anambra State.  So, the person that was alleged to have bought the child is called Nkurika Okonkwo, though the woman is at large. When the woman got wind of police presence in the matter, she abandoned the child and took to her heels and the police came to recover the child.

“The police have been trying to track the woman but it has not yielded any result, we are still looking for the woman. So when the child was brought here, the parent came and identified the child as their child. This happened at Ohaukwu but was later transfered to the headquarters”, explained.

On how the child was recovered, the PPRO said: “The person that stole the child is an aunt to the child and when the child was missing, she was worried and was looking for the child, until we got information that she was the last person seen with the child.

When the police mounted pressure and interrogated her, she confessed to the crime saying she sold the child at the sum of N100, 000. That is how police got to know the mystery surrounding the missing child.

Joan Rivers - Chris Brown will hit Rihanna again

Rihanna has been warned by Joan Rivers to avoid Chris Brown. The “Fashion Police” presenter warned that the singer's ex-boyfriend can hit her once more.

Joan Rivers called Rihanna an “idiot” after watching her open up about Chris Brown to Oprah Winfrey.

“Rihanna confessed to Oprah Winfrey that she still loves Chris Brown. Idiot! Now it’s my turn to slap her,” Rivers tweeted.

Rihanna quickly responded: “Wow, you really do get slow when you’re old, huh?”
But it appears she has deleted the tweet.

Rihanna has recently opened her heart about ex-boyfriend who physically assaulted the 24-year-old singer.
In an interview to Oprah Winfrey she confessed to have feelings for Brown.
“We love each other and we probably always will, and that’s not anything that we’re going to try to change,” she said about Brown.
Joan used the micro-blogging website (Twitter) again to express some advice for the “Umbrella” hit-maker before inviting her to appear on her own show.

She warned: “Honey, Rihanna, everyone knows: If he hit you once, he’ll hit you again. Read the statistics. PS - Love to have you on ‘Fashion Police’!”

Police Gun Down 5 Robbers This Morning

Policemen attached to Ilasamaja Divisional Police Headquarters in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, today killed five suspected armed robbers.

The suspected robbers numbering 12 stormed No.12, Salako Street, Ilasamaja at 2 a.m.

One of the residents managed to pass a phone call through to the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Ochogwu Ogbe, a Chief Superintendent of Police, SCP, who quickly despatched his anti-robbery squad to the scene of the robbery.

When they saw the policemen, the robbers opened fire on them. During the gun fight that ensued, five of the suspects were killed while the others escaped with bullet wounds.

Eyewitness Dotun Ayinde said Ilasamaja residents were not always willing to give policemen useful information which could lead to the arrest of criminals living among them.

“Because robbers laid siege to their house, early this morning, that was why they informed the police,” he said.

Items recovered from the robbers include three locally made pistols and catridges.

The corpses of the suspected robbers have been deposited at the Isolo General Hospital mortuary.

Down Syndrome Foundation Picked for Future Awards

The Down Syndrome Foundation of Nigeria has been selected for the charity organisation for the Future Awards 2012. Each year, the Central Working Committee of The Future Awards chooses a charity organisation it intends to work with for the year while it seizes the opportunity to bring the attention of the public to various human conditions that exist in the society, which people can contribute their quota to change lives.

The Down Syndrome Foundation of Nigeria, the committee explained, is a non-profit organisation, which seeks to provide care for children with Downs Syndrome some of whom have been abandoned by their parents and society on the basis of culture, and myths that tend to stigmatise them.

Down Syndrome (DS) is a genetic condition involving an extra chromosome, which occurs around the time of conception. Globally, it is estimated that for every 800 babies born, one will have Down Syndrome. People with DS usually have a certain degree of learning disability (problem with reading, writing, communication and speech difficulty) and are also prone to medical problems (40 per cent-50 per cent of babies with DS are born with congenital heart problems), half of which require heart surgery.

"The Down Syndrome Foundation of Nigeria seeks to improve the children's lot in life by providing educational, rehabilitation and counseling services, which we believe will make. The educational assessment, which we offer the children reveals their strengths and weaknesses and bespoke care is arranged for each child since all children are not equal," it noted.

Donations are therefore expected from kindhearted individuals who would like to help in their unique way to augment the efforts, which the DSFN is undertaking to make life more meaningful to the children.

Meanwhile, the Future Awards 2012 will hold in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on 25 and 26 August as the Central Working Committee (CWC) has unveiled the shortlist of five people per category for the Awards.

Finalists and winners of each category will be unveiled at The Future Awards 2012 this weekend, where the keynote speaker will be one of Africa's most influential entrepreneurs, Chairman of Heirs Holdings and the Founder of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, Tony Elumelu.

The Rivers State Government will host the Future Awards 2012, with support from Access Bank, Diamond Bank, Microsoft, and Notore. According to organisers, the event can be watched live from 2pm on the Sunday 26 on www.ynaija.com/thefutureawards.

Boko Haram Denies Dialogue With Government

Maiduguri, The Jama'atu Ahlis Sunnati Lidda'awati Wal Jihad, aka Boko Haram, has debunked reports that it has accepted to dialogue with the Federal Government, and wondered why the media was giving publicity to what it described as unfounded claims.

A statement signed by Abul-Qaqa, which was emailed to newsmen, said the group recognized only two attempted dialogue offers in 2011 even though both of them failed midway.

The moves, according to the group, include the time it sent one of its leaders Abu Dardaa for talks with government agents, but was arrested by security forces in Kaduna, while the second time was when the group was approached by Dr. Ibrahim Datti Ahmed through an Abuja based freelance journalist. Qaqa said any other claim that the group was approached by anybody or group is not true and warned media organizations against conspiring with government officials to mislead the public.

"There is no difference between those who fight us with guns and those who fight us with their tongues and pens.

Na Wa oh!
