CRIME: Man Jailed For Stealing Church Guitar
 A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Abule Egba Lagos on Tuesday sentenced a 32-year-old man, Sanni Umaru, to six months imprisonment for stealing a jazz guitar valued at N50, 000.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Tajudeen Elias, sentenced the accused to six months imprisonment with an option of N50, 000 fine, following his guilty plea.
Elias advised the convict to be well behaved after concluding his jail term and warned himto desist from such acts.

The convict, who is unemployed and lives close to the Railway line, Abattoir, Agege, was arraigned on a two-count charge of felony and theft.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Rachael Williams, had told the court that Umaru broke into St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Oko-Oba, Agege, and stole a jazz guitar and an offering pan. She said that the convict was arrested while also attempting to break into a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God at No.7, Edward Charity Close, Oko-Oba.

Williams said that the offence committed contravened and was punishable under Sections 278 and 404 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. She applied for the summary trial of the convict after he pleaded guilty to the charges.
