Burglar takes creepy selfie in woman's home

Plymouth Herald
An English woman is understandably creeped out after she discovered a photo on her phone that a stranger took of himself in her house.

The sinister picture shows the man's reflection as he sits at a dining table in a home in Plymouth, England.

The house's resident Susan — who provided a false name to protect her identity — says she didn't know the man had been in her house until she was scrolling through her phone and saw his photograph, reports the Plymouth Herald.

"He hadn't just been in my home, but he [took the photo] while I was there," Susan told the Plymouth Herald. "I think when the photo was taken I had been in the shower."

Susan claims that there's evidence the man may have slipped into her house more than once.

In late September, she began to notice food disappearing from her cupboards.

"Whole packs of biscuits would disappear. A six-multipack of crisps would turn into one single packet," she said, explaining she was "adamant" that it was her daughter sneaking the food.

Susan says she finds it "unnerving" that the man did not take anything of worth when he was in her home.

"It's the fact that he sat at my dining table, while I was in the house and if it wasn't for him taking that picture I wouldn't have ever known," Susan said. "That's what frightened me the most."

She added that she won't feel safe until police find the man and he explains his actions.
