The Central bank of Nigeria (CBN) has said it plans to release a =N= 5,000 (five thousand Naira note) into the Nigerian currency system.
Information reaching us is that the face of late president Umar Musa Yar’Adua will not be on the five thousand Naira note as previously speculated. However, the face of 3 prominent Nigerian women who are no more but contributed in different areas of the Nigerian society have been picked to grace the new note. They are Mrs Funmilayo Kuti (Fela’s mother), Margaret Ekpo and Hajia Gambo Sawaba.
