Chelsea Finally Sign Azpilicueta and Moses

Chelsea has completed signing of Spanish defender Cesar Azpilicueta from Marseille and Wigan Athletic winger Victor Moses.

“Chelsea are delighted to announce the signing of Cesar Azpilicueta,” a statement read on the club’s website.

“Cesar Azpilicueta transfer to Chelsea's is official. The Spanish defender has signed with the champions of Europe 2012,” the statement further said.

“The 22-year-old rightback, who recently represented Spain at the London Olympics, arrives at Stamford Bridge following a two-year spell in France’s Ligue 1 with Marseille.”

Marseille is expected to receive a fee of £7m for playing at Chelsea side.

However, Moses was bought for nine million pounds. “The club can confirm that after four unsuccessful bids from Chelsea for Victor Moses, a fifth bid has today finally met the valuation and terms set by Wigan Athletic and been accepted,” a Wigan statement read.

Azpilicueta is the fourth Spaniard in the Chelsea squad, teaming up with Juan Mata, Oriol Romeu and Fernando Torres.

The London club have won their opening two games of the season.
